being an international student (oh how i love that phrase. just cuz it makes me feel oh-so-intellectual) is something that has made me realise that my family isn't just my family. it is the people whom you love, the people who you eat dinner with everyday, and keep an extra packet of food in the fridge for. it's not, as i have been enthusiastically preached to, the boy/girlfriend who is oh-so-hot-in-bed, but i know it is the one who'll remember to pick up milk and noodles on a cold winter's night on the way home. it's the one who'll wake up at un-godly hours cuz you have an exam to study for, and make you comfort food while you study cuz you have a goldfish's attention when you're studying, but can msn/blogspy for hours. it's the housemate who'll but you a ticket to see a movie even tho you say you're not going, cuz she knows you'd secretly love to. it's the friends who will take crazy bus-rides with you to wild and weirdish places to buy bonsai. and then go on a road trip to deliver it. it's the person who will be dragged out of bed at 5am on a winter's morning to go to the gym cuz you cannot 'stick to it alone'. it's editing essays at midnight and having so much fun you realised you haven't done much.
marriage (herasey here, read not if you are easily offended) is more then just a couple (mw/ww/mm or whatever floats your boat) saying vows. it's two people's commitment to making a relationship work, it's symbiosis. it's what people mean when two flavours (of people or food or ideals) mesh in a way that brings out the best in each.
to my family, i love you.
and to you. i love you too. =)
Marriage has in it less beauty, but more of safety, than the single life; it hath not more ease, but less danger; it is more merry and more sad; it is fuller of sorrows and fuller of joys; it lies under more burdens, but is supported by all the strengths of love and charity; And those burdens are delightful.it's kinda like living together. or being in a relationship that has in it more gravity then would appear.
