it's 23 to 7 and i'm supposed to be doing essays.
my whole trip home was surreal. i feel like it never happened, that grandma will be waiting when i come home, the same as she always has. i feel like the mountains of work that i have waiting for me do not exist. i... just feel like the past 12 days have been a void.
i wanna thank (oh, the grammy moment!) shih and pat for my wonderfullest birthday present ever, and the only 21st party i want, and for letting me drag you to watch me salsa. i wanna thank young for the keeping-sondha-sane moments. i wanna thank dot for reminding me that cousins don't have to be in the same school (or class =)) to be close like that used to. i wanna thank all those who came to the funeral, and the many more who kept me and my family in their thoughts and prayers. i also wanna thank and crave forgiveness from the people who i promised to call when i came back, but couldn't/didn't cuz i was caught up with all the arrangements.
hmmm... on to lighter things. 6 weird things about me: gawd this promises to be funny.
1. i am a light heavy sleeper. i can sleep through garbage trucks, electrical storms and opera singing, but turning on the light wakes me up. i also exist on very little sleep (contrary to popular belief). ask SNU, it's tru =)
2. i'm a closet ah lian. blingbling things and techno music make me happy. as do brightly coloured objects. i draw the line at tYpiNG lYkE dIs. but yeah, i've got butterfly on faves in my mp3 player, and i'm not afraid to admit it.
3. i love the fact that i'm chindian. being a product of the two most ancient civilisations in the world just makes me feel like i have to learn all the culture and heritage that is my inheritance. =) i love the fact that i can tie saris and make imperfect cheongsam buttons. i love being able to appreciate palak paneer with my yong chow fried rice. i love looking like i come from anywhere, and i secretly love people asking me where i come from.
okay, it's the next day and i'm back
4. i have a kitchen stuff and household nonesense fetish. and sationery love. one of the things that makes sondha happy definately includes walks at kinokuniya stationery section, trips to popular, and browsing supermarkets, k-marts, targets and robinsons. but i hate to shop for clothes, shoes, and other things, except gadgets. a girl can never have too few gadgets.
5. i procrastinate by planning how not to procrastinate. i spend endless hours avoiding work by mapping intricate action plans on just how i'm going to complete my work. and filing my notes. and buying new stationery cuz the old stuff just won't do (see above) yup, i've elevated procrastination into an art form.
6. err... i used to be goth. like, seriously emo, omg-i-just-want-to-die, all in black kinda goth. hmmm. that didn't last long tho. =)
okies, i tag nette, young and shih! wheeee...
